TTC Essentials
Supplements, apps, and what actually moved the needle on our fertility journey.
The Approach
Trying to conceive can feel overwhelming. Everyone has opinions. The internet has more opinions. Here's what we actually used, based on data and our experience.
The reality
Both of my pregnancies, I conceived within my second acupuncture session. Could be coincidence. Could be something. I'm just reporting what happened.
Tracking & Apps
Flo App
Period and ovulation tracking. Log your ovulation strips here and it learns your cycle. Game changer for understanding your fertile window.
Do
Easy@Home Ovulation Strips
Cheap, accurate, buy in bulk. Use with Flo app. Don't overthink it - these work.
DoSupplements

FertilAid for Women
Prenatal vitamin + fertility support combo. Contains folate, vitex, and other nutrients to support ovulation.
Do
CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10)
Egg quality support supplement. Some evidence for fertility benefits. Often recommended by fertility doctors.
Do
Prenatal Vitamin
Start taking before you conceive. Folate is important for early fetal development. Ritual or Pink Stork are good options.
DoAlternative Approaches
Acupuncture
Many friends swear this turned around their fertility journey. We used Hooper Acupuncture in Highland Park (LA). Both pregnancies conceived within second session.
DoOn alternative approaches
I can't prove acupuncture works. The research is mixed. But it's low risk, and if you're struggling, it's worth trying. At minimum, it's an hour of calm in a stressful time.
When to Get Help
General guideline: if you're under 35 and have been trying for 12 months without success, or over 35 and trying for 6 months, talk to your OB or a reproductive endocrinologist.
But trust your gut. If something feels off, don't wait for an arbitrary timeline.
Not gospel
Fertility journeys are deeply personal. This is what worked for us. Talk to your doctor about what's right for your body.
