Pregnancy Clothing
Your body will change. These are cheap basics that don't make you feel like a frumpy troll.
The Philosophy
You're pregnant for ~9 months. You're visibly pregnant for maybe 4-5 of those. You don't need an entirely new wardrobe. You need strategic pieces that work with what you already own.
Skip maternity jeans
They're expensive, weird, and you'll wear them for 3 months max. Buy regular stretchy pants or leggings in a larger size instead. The full-belly panel thing is a scam.
What Actually Works

Belly Band
Extends the life of your existing pants. Wear over unbuttoned jeans. This is phase 1 of pregnancy dressing.
Do
Leggings (Regular, Sized Up)
Buy your regular leggings 1-2 sizes up. They'll stretch with you. Cheaper than "maternity" leggings and just as good.
Do
Oversized Linen Button-Downs
Work for pregnancy, postpartum (front access for nursing), and beyond. Buy quality basics that live beyond the pregnancy.
Do
Stretchy Midi Dresses
One and done outfits. No coordination required. Look pulled together with zero effort. Stock up.
Do
Bike Shorts
Wear under dresses for thigh chafing (it's real). Also work as standalone shorts in third trimester when nothing fits.
DoUnderwear & Bras

Kindred Bravely Underwear
Under-belly style that works during and after pregnancy. Soft, stretchy, comfortable. Buy a pack.
Do
Nursing Bras (Buy Now)
Your boobs will change size during pregnancy anyway. Might as well buy nursing bras now that you'll use later. Kindred Bravely or Motherhood Maternity.
DoWhat to Skip

Maternity Jeans
The full-belly panel is weird and uncomfortable. They're expensive. Just wear leggings or stretchy pants.
Skip
Expensive Maternity Clothes
Unless you have events that require them, don't spend a lot. You'll wear these items for a few months max.
Skip
"Cute" Maternity Shirts with Sayings
"Eating for Two" or similar. You do you, but these get old fast and you can't wear them after.
SkipWhere to shop
Target, Old Navy, and Amazon have decent basics. For higher quality, Hatch and Storq are good but pricey. ThredUp has great secondhand maternity options. Don't overthink it - this is temporary.
Not gospel
Wear whatever makes you feel good. Some people love maternity jeans. If that's you, go for it. These are my opinions, not rules.
